Investigation launched as person is hit by Croydon tram near Gravel Hill

The Rail Accident Investigation Branch has announced it will be investigating an incident after a person was struck by a tram near Gravel Hill, Croydon.

At around 08:05 on 10 March 2020, a tram departing Gravel Hill tram stop struck a person who had just alighted from the tram and was crossing the line.

The person received minor injuries.

The RAIB has chosen to produce a safety digest on this incident, which will be available in the next few weeks.

  • So who’s at fault then. The tram driver or the person who got off the tram and wasn’t looking and didn’t hear and had headphones on or wasn’t looking and had eyes down on the phone and was about to cross the crossing. When the tram was about to depart towards the next tram stop or a destination it was heading to. Mmm
