The 82045 Steam Locomotive Trust have released their latest update on building new build British Railways Standard Class 3 Tank (2-6-2) No.82045.

Bottom-End

Both the Handbrake and Steam Brake Cylinder systems now work, following assembly of the brake blocks, hangers, cross stretchers and pull rods.

The team will now focus on fitting the lubrication system for both pony trucks, which includes shaping many pipes to fit within the truck's frame.

Boiler

Wooden templates are being produced from drawings to help drill and cut plates to the right sizes. Although construction is in the early stages, this stage is key to building the boiler correctly.

Future Fund Appeal

The Fund is now at £7,000, which is incredible. With many standing orders, this figure will increase, which will help the Trust greatly when 82045 enters service and needs repairs.

We are looking forward to the next update on locomotive 82045.
