Spa Valley Railway temporarily suspends trains due to Coronavirus outbreak

The has announced that they have taken the decision to close the railway until April 2020.

This decision has been taken due to the guidance from the government which says for the public to avoid unnecessary travel and social contact.

Train services will be suspended until 25th April 2020.

The Spring Diesel & Beer Weekend and Easter trains will no longer take place.

However, the Somerset & Dorset Locomotive Company have extended the hire of Class 20 D8188 until the Summer Diesel Gala 2020

What did they say?

The Spa Valley Railway said:

We will review our operations closer to the time. All customers that have booked are being refunded slowly and you will receive an email shortly.

We are sorry to disappoint anyone but we don't want nor can we expect to expose our volunteers (a lot are over the age of 70) or our visitors to the COVID-19 outbreak.
