UPDATE: RTC have cancelled all tours until the 16th May 2020

The has announced that they have taken the decision to cancel/postpone all of their March tours.

This follows on from the government announcing new guidance regarding avoiding unnecessary travel and social contact.

This is, of course, in addition to the fact that passengers sit in a Mark 1 carriage in close confinement for a number of hours.

There is currently no confirmation if any of the tours will be revised to future dates.

We understand that readers may be disappointed, but the safety of staff and passengers must come first.

Railway Touring Company joins Saphos Trains, Statesman Rail and Vintage Trains in postponing tours due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

  • Dear Railway Touring Company.
We have booked on the Carlisle, Settle trip on May 16th. As all trips have been cancelled up to Friday May 15th, is there any news regarding our trip on the 16th. Also 3 members of our party are pensioners and one Asthmatic. If the Corona Virus is still rampant what penalty would we incur if we cancelled due to our vulnerability.
We came on the same trip on March 14th and thoroughly enjoyed it, the excellent service and food was wonderful. Many thanks for that.
    Kind Regards
    Malcolm W. J. Burt.
