Parking charges at Manchester Piccadilly and Liverpool Lime Street waived for NHS workers

Network Rail has announced that during the coronavirus crisis, there will be no parking charges for NHS and care workers using and Lime Street stations.

Many healthcare professionals use the rail network to travel to and from work.

People are reminded that with only essential travel being recommended during the pandemic, a reduced timetable is operating on the rail network.

What did the officials say?

Karen Hornby, head of performance and customer relationship at , said:

“The NHS are going above and beyond to save lives during this crisis so it's important that we support them as much as we can.

“If you need to park at the station, just have your NHS or care work ID to hand and you're welcome to park for free.”

  • Once again well done Network Rail and NHS. Keep up the good work during the Coronavirus outbreak. And to issue fines for those who aren’t working for the NHS or emergency services and Network Rail.
