The Great Central Railway has announced that they have chosen to cancel the 2020 Model Event.

The event was due to be held from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st June 2020.

The GCR says that they have chosen to cancel the event due to the predicted peak of the virus being towards the end of May.

This event is mainly held in two enclosed marquees at station, where there is the possibility of over 2000 people being in close confinement over the three days.

However, all other events are taking place as advertised at the time of writing.

What did they say?

The Great Central Railway said:

We apologise to all involved, especially to the staff and volunteers who have been working on this event since last year.
