has announced that the concessionary travel restriction is to be lifted on all train services until further notice.

At the minute, there is a restriction of 09:30 am for concessionary travel.

This allows those over 60 with concessionary passes to travel at all times on the network, not just during the off-peak period.

Merseyrail lifting the restriction means that the elderly and vulnerable to get to major supermarkets for food and shopping during their early period of opening.

An agreement was made with Merseyrail, Stagecoach, Arriva, Northern, Transpennine Express and other bus operators to support this.
