MAJOR DISRUPTION: Person hit by a train near London

A person has been hit by a train between Milton Keynes Central and London Euston and is causing disruption on the WCML.

Trains running between these stations may still be cancelled or delayed by up to 90 minutes.

Update: some lines have reopened, trains are still subject to delay

Major disruption is expected until 21:00.

To help passengers with their journey, Avanti West Coast tickets will be accepted on the following services:

  • Chiltern Railways services between Birmingham Moor Street and London Marylebone
  • CrossCountry services between Birmingham New Street and Reading
  • East Midlands Railway services between Sheffield and London St Pancras International
  • Great Western Railway services between Reading and London Paddington
  • London North Eastern Railway services between Edinburgh / Leeds and London Kings Cross
  • Northern services between Sheffield and Manchester Piccadilly
  • TransPennine Express services via any reasonable route

To help passengers with their journey, London Northwestern Railway tickets will be accepted on the following services:

  • Avanti West Coast services between Crewe and Rugby / London Euston
  • Chiltern Railway services between Birmingham Moor Street and London Marylebone
  • CrossCountry services between Birmingham New Street and Reading / Leicester / Stoke-on-Trent and also between Tamworth and Derby.
  • East Midlands Railway services between Derby and Crewe / London St Pancras International
  • London Overground services between Watford Junction and London Euston
  • London Underground services on the Metropolitan Line, Circle Line, Hammersmith Line and City Line.
  • Thameslink services between Bedford and London St Pancras International
  • West Midlands Railway services between Worcester and Birmingham New Street and also between Nuneaton and Leamington Spa.

To help passengers with their journey, London Overground tickets will be accepted on the following services:

  • Chiltern Railways between Harrow-on-the-Hill / Sudbury & Harrow road and London Marylebone
  • London Buses via any reasonable route
  • London Northwestern Railway services between Watford Junction and London Euston
  • London Overground via any reasonable route
  • London Underground via any reasonable route
  • Southern services between Watford Junction / Clapham Junction and West Brompton / London Victoria
  • South Western Railway services between Richmond and London Waterloo
  • Thameslink services between West Hampstead Thameslink and London St Pancras International

Southern services that run between East Croydon and Milton Keynes Central will be cancelled or altered.

Southern services are still able to run to stations between East Croydon and Shepherds Bush but please be aware that some disruption is still likely.

Rail replacement buses have also been requested to run.
