has announced that they have teamed up with Thomas the Tank Engine this World Book Day to give away special edition books in Smyths Stores.

The Stay Safe with Thomas storybook sees Thomas having fun on the railway, putting his fun over being safe. This leading to putting himself and his friends in harm's way.

He learns about the dangers of not stopping at a level crossing when the red light shows, leaving gates open to allow animals on to the tracks and when people stand too close to the edge of a platform.

To get your free copy of Thomas & Friends: Stay Safe with Thomas, head down to participating Smyths retailers.

These books will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to get there early. Plus, there will be great deals on Thomas & Friends toys.

If you can't get to a Smyths store, download your free copy of the Thomas & Friends: Stay Safe with Thomas at: www.networkrail.co.uk/thomas

What did the officials say?

Allan Spence, head of public and passenger safety at Network Rail said

‘We hope by getting the story book out to as many families as possible we can help to start the conversation around rail safety at a younger age. By delivering gentle messages about rail safety to children we can help to build a new generation of safety ambassadors across the rail network.'
