The Churnet Valley Railway has announced that they have decided to cancel their upcoming Mad Hatters Easter event.

Additionally, all of the footplate driving and ride courses have been suspended until further notice.

The is the latest railway to cancel events, after the Great Central Railway, East Lancashire Railway and Ffestiniog Railway all have chosen to cancel events after the Coronavirus outbreak started.

The plan is for the Churnet Valley Railway to carry on operating train services at the time of writing.

The CVR is also encouraging customers to book online, and use contactless as much as possible to reduce the use of cash.
