The has announced that BR Class 37 No. 37109 will be visiting them in 2020.

The Class 37 will be appearing at their 2020 Summer Diesel Gala, which will take from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th August 2020.

The Class 37/0 appears courtesy of the locomotive's owner and the East Lancashire Railway, where it is based.

More guests will be announced in due course.

A brief history of 37109

37109 was built by English Electric in 1962 and entered service with British Rail, operating freight and passenger trains across the country. 37109 is lucky in the railway world, as it was never withdrawn from BR service, instead, it kept operating on the mainline all the way up to 2008, when it was withdrawn from service with EWS Railways (English, Welsh and Scottish Railways), where it was then sent to the East Lancashire Railway.
