The Severn Valley Railway has announced that LMS 8F No 48305 will be visiting them for their Spring Steam Gala.
8F No. 48305 visits the Severn Valley Railway thanks to David Clarke Railway Trust, Roger Hibbert and the Great Central Railway, where the locomotive is based.
The Spring Steam Gala is being held from the 16th to the 19th April 2020!
48305 is the second confirmed visitor to the Spring Steam Gala, following in the footsteps of 2999 Lady of Legend, from the Didcot Railway Centre.

A brief history of 48305
Built in November 1943 by Crewe Works for use on LMS, 48305 was withdrawn in January 1968 and entered Barry Scrapyard in September 1968. Purchased by a private owner in 1985 for restoration at GCR, 48305 steamed for the first time in preservation in February 1995. The engine moved between a few lines before returning to GCR and withdrawn in 2011 for overhaul. 48305 returned to traffic in 2019 appearing in BR Unlined Black with Early Crest on tender sides, with the current boiler ticket expiring in 2029.

But in September will changing autumn steam Gala visit engines 48305 LMS Stanier 8F 2-8-0 from GCR and 2999 GWR Lady Legend 4-6-0 and 1638 GWR Pannier 0-6-0T
