The 82045 Steam Locomotive Trust have released their latest update in building new-build British Railways Standard Class 3 Tank No.82045.

Smokebox

Although the master mechanics spark arrester system might not be needed in service, the team have fitted the brackets to support the system just in case while the smokebox is clean.

Steam locomotive 82045 will most likely enter traffic with a simple spark arrester set up for hauling trains on the Severn Valley Railway.

Bottom End and Valve Gearing

Machining lubrication pipes and fitting cotters have been carried out on the pony trucks.

Painting of the brake hangers, cross stretchers and pull rods is in progress, which on completion will see these parts ready for assembly

The forged valve spindles will be machined soon at Stephenson Engineering.
