Two diesel locomotive visitor announcements from the Severn Valley Railway

The Severn Valley Railway has announced not one, but two, diesel locomotives that will be visiting for their Spring Diesel Festival.

The SVR will be welcoming 37190 and 47712 to the big diesel weekend.

The Class 37, 37190, and Class 47, No. 47712, join already confirmed Class 44 ‘Peak' No. D4 Great Gable (thanks to the Peak Locomotive Company Limited) and Class 55 ‘Deltic' No. 55019 Royal Highland Fusilier (thanks to The Deltic Preservation Society).

37190 visits thanks to Locomotive Services Ltd and 47712 Lady Diana Spencer visits thanks to the Crewe Diesel Preservation Group.

37190 is one of several Class 37s in the UK – they operate on the mainline and at heritage railways. 37190 runs only at heritage railways and is not mainline certified. It was built in 1964 by English Electric Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns. It is currently based at the Midland Railway – Butterley.

47712 was built in 1964 by Brush Falcon Works and is currently seen in ScotRail livery, with blue strip.
