Steam locomotive 46115 Scots Guardsman will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in Preston and Carlisle on Saturday 29th February 2020.
The Scot locomotive is on a special railtour. 46115 Scots Guardsman is hauling the Cumbrian Mountain Steam Special on Saturday.

Peterborough to Preston and Carlisle to Peterborough sections are DIESEL HAULED
The railtour departs Peterborough behind a diesel locomotive at approximately 06:09 am.
The railtour will then head for Carlisle, where it will pass through Grantham (06:36), Newark North Gate (06:53), Retford (07:13), Doncaster (07:35), Wakefield Kirkgate (08:16), Hebden Bridge (09:02), Accrington (09:31), Blackburn (09:40) and Preston at 10:15.
Here, the 46115 Scots Guardsman will be added to the front of the train. The train will depart with the locomotive at 11:08 and will pass through Lancaster (11:34), Oxenholme Lake District (12:41), Penrith North Lakes (13:14) and Carlisle at 14:30.
At Carlisle, 46115 is swapped for a heritage diesel, with 46115 returning to Carnforth Steamtown light engine.
After around an hour and a half in Carlisle, the diesel locomotive will depart for Peterborough and will pass through Hexham (16:59), Durham (18:04), Thirsk (18:48), York (19:09), Doncaster (19:42), Retford (20:03), Newark North Gate (20:22), Grantham (20:41) and Peterborough at 21:10.
