Steam locomotive 60009 Union of South Africa on test this week!

Steam locomotive 60009 Union of South Africa will be back on the mainline once again, heading to Carnforth and around the Carnforth circle.

60009 has been undergoing repairs lately after failing down south last year.

Please bear in mind this is a light engine movement and can be changed and cancelled at any time.

Departing the East Lancashire Railway at 04:17, the locomotive will pass through Castleton (04:42), Manchester Victoria (05:08), Eccles (05:19), Wigan North Western (05:45), Preston (06:06), Lancaster (06:32) and Carnforth Steamtown at 07:00.

Departing Carnforth Steamtown at 09:48, the locomotive will then pass through Hellifield (12:50), Clitheroe (14:49), Blackburn (15:15), Preston (16:37), Lancaster (18:36) and Carnforth Steamtown at 20:21.

Departing Carnforth Steamtown at 21:21, the locomotive will the pass through Lancaster (21:52), Preston (22:19), Wigan North Western (22:39), Manchester Victoria (23:30), Castleton (23:55) and the East Lancashire Railway at 00:12.
