Steam locomotive 4144 set for Keighley and Worth Valley Railway visit

The have announced that GWR Large Prairie steam locomotive No 4144 will be visiting them in 2020.

The locomotive will be attending the KWVR for their upcoming Spring Steam Gala, which is being held from the Friday 6th to Sunday 8th March 2020.

4144 will be visiting the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway thanks to the Didcot Railway Centre.

4144 will join 41241, 78022, 5820, 45596 ‘Bahamas', 45212, 43924 and 85 at the gala and will be hauling a number of trains throughout the gala.

About 4144

Steam locomotive 4144 was built in 1946 by the Great Western Railway and is one of the 5101 class of locomotives. 4144 is a medium-sized tank engine and was used for suburban and local passenger services of the Great Western Railway network; this includes the Severn Valley branch in BR days.
