Steam locomotive 4110 arrives at the East Somerset Railway ahead of overhaul

The has announced that Ex-GWR Large Prairie steam locomotive No. 4110 has arrived at Cranmore MPD ahead of an overhaul.

Volunteers at the East Somerset Railway will get to work on the locomotive in 2020 after the locomotive arrived at Cranmore from the Dartmouth Steam Railway.

The restoration of 4110 is expected to take three years to complete.

Following this, the East Somerset Railway will use the locomotive to haul their passenger trains for three years.

The first pieces of work have seen the cab, bunker, tanks and other large items removed ready for overhaul work to begin.

We look forward to seeing the overhaul of 4110 progress over the next few years, after following the overhaul of 5239 Goliath throughout, we know what a fab job the East Somerset Railway can do!
