  • So this could be the end of Bombardier (including Bombardier Transportation). Whilst CAF, Hitachi, Siemens, Talgo, Stadler and yes Alstom will continue on manufacturing new trains for the UK.

    • And would that mean Aventra trains such as Class 701, Class 710, Class 720, Class 730 and Class 345 will be handed over to Alstom. To be rebranded as Alstom Aventra fleets. As well the Electrostar, Voyagers and Turbostar rolling stocks also to be handed over to Alstom. Since Bombardier built these trains in the past 10-20 years.

  • Interesting, but what about Bombardier Germany (in fact the former famous Henschel factories), they produce the TRAXX locomotives.

  • “Pendolino’s” should read “Pendolinos”. Apostrophes should be used for possessives, not plurals.

  • Seriously bad news ..
We need more manufacturers not less .
    Manopoly created nothing ….
Look at the Leyland takeover of Bristol. Nothing changes ..
To develop competative manufacture you need companies to think and tender .
The modern stock is like traveling in a prison van compared to a 118 DMU
