The LMS Patriot Project has announced that a new Chairman and Assessment Party for the Mainline Operation for the Project has been appointed.
Colin Hall has taken up the position of Chairman, being unanimously voted in at the Board Meeting held on Saturday the 25th of January 2020.
Colin brings with him to his new position an extensive wealth of knowledge from his career with British Rail, Railtrack and Network Rail, where he held a number of important senior roles.
This insight and experience will greatly assist The LMS Patriot Project's aim of operating 5551 “The Unknown Warrior” on the mainline, despite his relatively new presence in terms of heritage steam locomotives.
Also voted on in the January 2020 Board Meeting was Ricardo Rail appointed as the assessment party for providing independent assurance for The LMS Patriot Project.
The decision was made following an assessment of all options and suitability for 5551 “The Unknown Warrior”. A big benefit of choosing Ricardo Rail is they are the only accredited assessment body for mainline steam operation.

Colin Hall said
“It is a great honour to have been appointed chairman. My immediate priorities have been to engage in rail industry stakeholder consultation, to be professional about our project progress and communicate more frequently with our members. The contribution our members make to our progress is immense, and I am determined to do the best I can to earn and repay their confidence”.
“we have come to this decision quite late in the day for the project, and there is a lot to be done in this area, with likely implications for the locomotive completion date. But I am confident that the will exists on all sides to see this through, and ensure that 5551 can enjoy her life on the main-line to the full.”

Why since moving to the West Shed??
This project is now doomed since moving to west shed !! Very poor management very sub standard engineering and a vast money pit !! Time wise you will be lucky to see anything in 4 years let alone 18 months !! Shame a lost cause !!
