After Storm Ciara hit yesterday, trains are still affected this morning during peak hours and beyond.
There are many minor disruptions this morning, however, here are some of the more significant delays.
Here is what we know so far:
Northern has confirmed that Skipton trains will be cancelled all day today after Storm Ciara brought flooding to the area.
Flooding of the railway has been confirmed at Kirkstall Forge and at Hellifield.
This means that all trains travelling between Leeds and Ilkley, Skipton, Bradford Forster Square, Keighley, Lancaster, Shipley and Carlisle are all cancelled.
UPDATE – Northern trains are running between Skipton and Shipley, with buses replacing trains between Shipley and Leeds, and Skipton and Carlisle.
Northern are advising passengers at Bradford Forster Square to travel from Bradford Interchange if possible.
Passengers at Leeds, wanting to travel to Carlisle, and vice versa, are advised to travel via Manchester Oxford Road or Newcastle to complete their journey. HOWEVER – trains between Preston and Carlisle are not running due to flooding.
Damage to overhead wires at Handforth is disrupting Northern trains between Stockport and Crewe
TransPennine Express has announced that no trains are running between Preston and Edinburgh and Glasgow Central due to flooding. THIS IS ALSO AFFECTING AVANTI WEST COAST AND SCOTRAIL SERVICES.
TransPennine Express are also advising passengers NOT TO TRAVEL
CrossCountry has confirmed that no trains can run between Wolverhampton and Stafford due to damage to a railway embankment.
A broken down train at Wilmslow is caused disruption between Crewe and Stockport, affecting Transport for Wales and Avanti West Coast services.
A replacement bus service is in operation on the Conwy Valley Line and the Cambrian Line, with no Transport for Wales' trains running.
Transport for Wales trains are expected to be cancelled or diverted between Shrewsbury and Crewe after a fallen tree has been found between Yorton and Wem. TREE CLEARED – trains subject to 30 minutes delay
A fallen tree at Ashford International and at Ore is stopping Southern train services from running Ham Street, Appledore, Rye, Winchelsea, Doleham and Three Oaks (a low hanging branch has also been found at Three Oaks).
South Western Railway has confirmed that fallen trees are blocking the line at Dean (all lines blocked), Redbridge (line towards Romsey blocked) and Strawberry Hill (line towards Twickenham blocked).
Hastings to London trains are currently being cancelled and delayed after a fallen tree was found at Wadhurst. TREE CLEARED – trains disrupted by up to 30 minutes
Damage to overhead wires means that Heathrow Express are running a reduced service from London Paddington to Heathrow.
TfL Rail has confirmed that a reduced EVENING PEAK service will operate between London Paddington and Hayes & Harlington. Westbound trains throughout the day will not call at Acton Mainline – passengers should change at Ealing Broadway for a train back to Acton Mainline.
All London Northwestern Railway trains between London Euston and Walsall/Rugeley/Crewe/Liverpool will terminate at Birmingham New Street.
