CrossCountry has announced that it has opened the first new railway station in Worcestershire for over 100 years, Worcestershire Parkway.
On Sunday 23 February, Worcestershire Parkway station will join the 118 stations already served by CrossCountry across Great Britain.
Worcestershire Parkway has a large, secure car park, modern facilities and accessible platforms, making it a brilliant way to enter the county.
CrossCountry will serve the station hourly throughout the day, southbound to Gloucester and Cardiff and northwards to Birmingham and Nottingham; onward connections will link the county to almost every part of the country.
GWR services to the Cotswolds and London will also serve the station, making Worcestershire Parkway connected to the rest of Britain. They will enable Worcestershire to continue growing its business and tourism links as the county becomes an even easier place to visit.

The new Worcestershire Parkway railway station is located near to Norton village and the B4084 road with the M5 Junction 7 nearby and Worcester City Centre. The new railway station has 3 platforms with 2 platforms (on low level) used for Crosscountry trains operating on Cardiff-Nottingham Crosscountry services and GWR trains using platform 3 (high level) operating on the London Paddington-Worcester Shrub Hill/Foregate Street, Great Malvern, Hereford and Oxford Cotswolds Line services. But it’s good to see the new Worcestershire Parkway station officially opened today.
Plus with Phase 3 that would mean Crosscountry will allow more of their trains to stop at Worcestershire Parkway and to introduce more extra trains and new long distance services.
