Steam locomotive 45231 The Sherwood Forester heading for Holyhead this Saturday

Ex-LMS Black 5 No. 45231 The Sherwood Forester will be heading to Holyhead this Saturday, 1st February 2020.

The tour will depart Leicester with a heritage diesel upfront at 07:17, the tour will then pass through Narborough (07:30), Hinckley (07:42), Nuneaton (07:55), Tamworth (08:17), Lichfield Trent Valley (08:28), Rugeley Trent Valley (08:39), Stafford (08:59) and Crewe at 09:33.

Here, 45231 is added to the train. Departing Crewe at 09:33, the steam locomotive will pass through Chester (10:37), Shotton (10:50), Flint (10:56), Rhyl (11:22), Llandudno Junction (11:46), Bangor (12:47) and Holyhead at 13:30.

The return trip will depart at 15:50. 45231 will then pass through Bangor (16:24), Llandudno Junction (16:47), Prestatyn (17:33), Shotton (17:53), Chester (18:08) and Crewe at 18:34.

The diesel will then take over once again and will drop off passengers at Stafford (19:33), Rugeley Trent Valley (19:48), Lichfield Trent Valley (19:59), Tamworth (20:08), Nuneaton (20:25), Hinckley (20:36), Narborough (20:50), and Leicester at 21:05.
