First steam locomotie tour of 2020 runs tomorrow!

Steam locomotive 35018 British India Line will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in Blackburn and Carlisle on Saturday 25th January 2020.

The Merchant Navy locomotive is on a special railtour tomorrow. 35018 British India Line is hauling the Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express on Saturday.

The railtour departs Manchester Victoria behind the locomotive at approximately 07:34 am.

The railtour will then leave Manchester Victoria, bound for Carlisle, and will pass through Salford Central (07:38), Farnworth (08:01), Bolton (08:05), Chorley (08:24), Leyland (08:36), Cherry Tree (08:52), Blackburn (08:56), Clitheroe (09:28), Hellifield (10:18), Settle (10:56), Ribblehead (11:11), Appleby (11:48). Langwathby (12:02) and Carlisle at 13:19.

After a couple of hours in Carlisle, 35018 will depart Carlisle at 15:20 bound for Manchester Victoria. It will pass through Penrith North Lakes (16:27), Oxenholme Lake District (17:02) and Carnforth DUGL (17:19), where 35018 will be taken off the train.

The diesel locomotive waking over 35018 will pass through Lancaster (18:09), Preston (18:32), Bolton (18:58), and Salford Central (19:17).

The railtour will arrive back at its final destination of Manchester Victoria at 19:20.
