The GWR Diesel Department has announced that Class 55 Deltic locomotive, No. 55019 ‘Royal Highland Fusilier' will be visiting them in 2020.
The Deltic Preservation Society's locomotive is this years visitor to its 2020 Diesel Gala, which is being held from Friday 24th July to Sunday 26th July 2020.
As with last year's visitor, 50035 Ark Royal, 55019 will stay at the GWR until October, which will mean that it will be in action at the Autumn Diesel Weekend, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday 26th and 27th September.
This will be the first-ever appearance of a Deltic on the former GWR and BR Western Region cross country mainline via Stratford and Cheltenham.
