The Dartmoor Railway Supporters’ Association (DRSA) has released a statement regarding the Dartmoor Railway which is currently being advertised for sale.

Dartmoor Railway Supporters’ Association (DRSA)

The DRSA is a 200 plus strong volunteer organisation who help maintain Okehampton Station and operates heritage train services between Okehampton Station and Meldon Viaduct by providing rolling stock and staff.

Up to Monday 13th of January, the DRSA has received no communications from current operators (Dartmoor Railway Community Interest Company (DRCIC)) or owners (British American Railway Services Ltd) to discuss the sale or alterations to the leasing arrangements between them and Aggregate Industries and Devon County Council.

All the DRSA knows is the information listed on the Walker Singleton Chartered Surveyors’ website.

Future for Dartmoor Railway

Although the future for the line has been put into some uncertainty with being up for sale, the DRSA are looking forward to any new arrangement and supporting the possibility of returning daily trains to the line for local people and tourists in the West Devon and North Cornwall area.
