Steam locomotive to make unusual appearance in York

GWR ‘Castle’ No. 7029 ‘Clun Castle’ will be on the mainline this Saturday, 14th December 2019, as it hauls a Vintage Trains railtour.

The Castle will be hauling a railtour from Dorridge to York.

The train will depart Dorridge at 07:45, and will then pass through Solihull (07:55), Tyseley (08:06), Water Orton (08:47), Coleshill Parkway (08:55), Tamworth (09:25), Burton-on-Trent (09:45), Castle Donington (10:24), Ilkeston (10:45), Langley Mill (10:56), Chesterfield (11:16), Swinton (11:58), Pontefract Baghill (12:14), Church Fenton (13:11) and York (13:26).

The return journey will see the locomotive depart at 18:05,  and then will pass through Doncaster (18:42), Chesterfield (20:12), Alfreton (20:37), Ilkeston (20:53), Castle Donington (21:23), Tamworth (21:58), Coleshill Parkway (22:29), Tyseley (22:56), Solihull (23:06) and Dorridge at 23:19.
