The Mid Hants Railway, also known as The Watercress Line, has announced the last running days for BR ‘9F’ No. 92212 before it goes for away for overhaul.

The last chance for passengers to ride behind this mighty locomotive will be the 26th, 27th & 28th December.

These dates will be the last time in service for this locomotive for the foreseeable future.

At the end of their 10 years in steam, locomotives need to be stripped down to the little individual pieces so that everything can be inspected, repaired and cleaned.

Once this is all done, and the necessary tests complete, 92212 will be able to return to passenger service.
