Grand Central has announced that the £9m refurbishment of their Adelante train fleet has now been completed.
Customer across the Grand Central network will benefit from the improvements to the 10 Adelante trains. They all now have smart new interiors, with new flooring and new seats installed.
The toilet facilities have had a full refit, with baby changing and improvements to disabled facilities.
The refurbishment has taken 2 years to complete, and other improvements include LED lighting, improved catering facilities with barista coffee machines. Power sockets have also been installed for charging phones and laptops etc.
The trains which operate across Grand Central's North East and West Riding routes have also had a full repaint inside and out.
The company have also launched a new ticket booking website and app for customers.

Dave Hatfield, Fleet Director at Grand Central, said:

The announcement of the project's completion comes at an exciting time for Grand Central as it is set to launch a new route between Blackpool and London Euston in 2020. The company has also recently been granted access rights by the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) to operate an additional daily return service between Sunderland and London Kings Cross until at least 2021.
