The has released the latest update of their loco, Stanier Mogul No. 13268, which is currently in an advanced stage of its overhaul at Bridgnorth Works.

The stays in the right-hand side of the lower firebox have been reamed out. Stay holes on the left-hand side of the firebox have been drilled in the new side sheet, and some have also been reamed out.

On the firebox, the new outer backplate has been marked out for stay hole drilling. The pads that support various backplate fittings have also been bolted in place for preparation to be welded.

On the inner backplate, various holes have been drilled, except those on the upper right flange are oversize and need to be welded before drilling.

In the Bridgnorth machine shops, the brass of the big end was pressed into the connecting rod and is now being trimmed to the correct size.

On the loco, the valve spindle crosshead is complete, bolted up, and the retaining pins are open. The cab doors, tender fall plates and rear vertical plate have all been refitted, as well as the cab steps.

The brake rigging and linkage has started to be refitted, with the pull rod between the coupled wheels having been fitted to the locomotive.

The mechanical lubricator for the cylinders has been repainted before re-attaching to the running plate begins.
