Not one, but two Black 5 steam locomotives will be in Blackburn this Sunday as they haul a special tour to Sheffield.
The tour is expected to be hauled by LMS Black 5s No. 44871 and 45407 ‘The Lancashire Fusilier’.
Departing Blackburn at 09:05, the train will pass through Darwen (09:18), Bolton (09:50), Salford Central (10:14), Manchester Victoria (10:17), Rochdale (10:39), Hebden Bridge (10:58), Brighouse (11:32), Wakefield Kirkgate (12:50), Moorthorpe (13:24), Swinton (13:58) and Sheffield (15:34).
Departing Sheffield at 16:28, the train will pass through Grindleford (16:47), Edale (17:37), Hazel Grove (17:56), Stockport (18:08), Denton (18:20), Manchester Victoria (19:30), Bolton (19:52), Chorley (20:10) and Preston at 20:26 – where this tour will terminate.
