The Great Britain tour by the Railway Touring Company is returning for its 13th year in 2020 and brings a new appearance to the loco list.

The Great Britain tour is a 9 day festival of steam, taking passengers on a tour of Great Britain, all 9 days being hauled by steam locomotives.

60163 Tornado is set to make her debut on this special tour, thanks to the partnership that has been formed recently between the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust and West Coast Railways.

The A1 locomotive, the first new build in the UK since BR days, will haul the tour on the first day between London Kings Cross and York, where it will stand down and be swapped for 46115 Scots Guardsman for the trip to Edinburgh.

Other locomotives to feature in this huge tour include 46233 Duchess of Sutherland, 45690 Leander, 35018 British India Line, 6201 Princess Elizabeth.

As always, the locomotives are subject to availability and can change at short notice.

Fancy this tour yourself? Tickets (per person) start at £2695. You can book a ticket via the Railway Touring Company website here.
