The Atlantic Group has released some exciting news in their latest update and is a major milestone in the new build project.

The boiler for Beachy Head has passed its hydraulic test! Yes, after a lot of hard work by the volunteers, the boiler inspector came and inspected the hydraulic test.

The test pressure was raised by the use of the pneumatic water accumulator pump and once at the test pressure, the pump was stopped.

After an hour or so, the small weeps made no difference in the pressure and the test was passed.

Away from the boiler, the tender tank has been lowered on to the chassis and is now in the process of being bolted and fixed to the chassis.

Work is also continuing on the boiler cladding sheets. The cladding process could be hampered if the weather isn't on their side, but the tender work means there is plenty of indoor work available.
