RMT and South Western Railway agree to talks

The has announced that they have agreed to hold talks with today.

The union and the train operator has agreed to ACAS talks.

South Western Railway staff have been striking recently in a dispute over the role of the train guard with the rail union.

If successful, it may mean that strike action is cancelled.

What did the officials say?

An RMT Spokesperson said;

“Following a further exchange of correspondence both RMT and SWR have agreed to talks through ACAS tomorrow.

“The RMT team will be led by General Secretary Mick Cash and we believe that there is a deal there to be done and the union will work tirelessly to secure that objective.”

  • 27 days of strikes on South Western Railway will start on Monday 2nd December. Most passengers would probably have to find other alternative ways to commute into Central London. Or to endure using replacement buses.
