has announced that it is tweaking some timetables to help get passengers in into the Christmas spirit.

Full details of the timetables can be found on the Northern website.

What did the officials say?

Steve Hopkinson, Regional Director at Northern, said:

“We want every to have a very merry Christmas and are doing our bit by changing some train times to give customers more services and more ways to get to and from Lincoln.

“The amended times will give customers at Darnall, Woodhouse, Kiveton Bridge, Kiveton Park and Shireoaks a direct service to Lincoln and some express trains will also stop at Kiveton Bridge. The changes mean, however, that, for two days, there will be a significantly reduced service at Gainsborough Central – only the Cleethorpes service will call there on the Saturday.”

“The Christmas markets bring people from all over the country to Lincoln and we want to do all we can to help our customers make the most of the festivities.

“We want to make sure all our customers have a great festive season and so, as well as being aware of the new timetables, I'm also asking everyone to act with patience and respect.

“Our trains will be busy, but we'll have extra staff on duty and all at Northern will be working round-the-clock to help people in the city and to make sure they get where they need to be.”
