has released a short update on the construction work taking place on 6880 Betton Grange.

The society is nearing completion on their project to build the 81st GWR grange locomotive.

The boiler has now been filled with water and has now been moved outside at Tyseley Locomotive Works.

The boiler is now sat awaiting the boiler inspector so that the hydraulic test can be carried out.

Meanwhile, back in the inside, where its drier, and slightly warmer, the vacuum pump has been fitted and is now piped up.

This is excellent progress and is one more step towards completing the locomotive.
