Appeal launched after man is stabbed at Blantyre station in South Lanarkshire

The has announced that they are appealing for further information after a man was stabbed in South Lanarkshire.

The incident happened at 1.12 am on Sunday 24 November in the car park at Blantyre railway station.

The victim, aged in his 50s, was attacked by two men following an argument on Station Road.

The two men were part of a larger group. Following the attack, the men and the group ran away and back in the direction of Station Road.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment. His injury was not life-threatening, and he has since been released.

Those in the group are described as:

  • A man, white, between 5ft 10 and 6ft, aged between 20 and 40 years old, of a stocky build and with dark hair. He was wearing a khaki jacket with a patch on the left sleeve, blue jeans and white trainers.
  • A man, white, between 5ft 8 and 5ft 10, aged between 20 and 40 years old, with short dark hair and of slim build. He was wearing a dark jacket with a large white patch on the shoulder area of each sleeve. He was also wearing light blue jeans and white trainers.
  • A man, white, between 5ft 8 and 5ft 10, of a heavy build, and wearing a dark coloured hooded tracksuit top with a white stripe down each sleeve. He was also wearing dark shorts, black socks and white trainers.
  • A woman, white, aged between 18 and 25 years old, of slim build, and with short dark hair tied into a bun. She was wearing a black jacket, light-coloured trousers and white trainers.
  • A woman, white, aged between 18 and 25 years old, of a heavy build, and with short dark hair tied up. She was wearing a black jacket with a fur lined hood, blue jeans and dark shoes.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who knows the two men, or who knows anyone who was in the group.
