Over 1,000 tickets in total will be donated to local charities for The Train to Christmas Town which is running at two English heritage railways this festive season.

The Train to Christmas Town will be running at the Dartmoor Railway Company in Devon and The Company in Durham.

The recipients will each enjoy a fabulous 70-minute steam train journey, where passengers will meet Santa, join in with singing and dancing by his elves and listen to the conductor's enchanting stories.

Festively decorated stations will serve hot and cold refreshments, including hot dogs, chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate, as well as mulled wine for the adults.

This fantastic annual event for children of all ages is based on the book ‘The Train to Christmas Town' by Peggy Ellis.

Celebrity-spotters should keep their eyes peeled for famous visitors to the fantastic Christmas train journeys. Previous years have seen the likes of Jade from Little Mix and boxing superstar Tony Bellew

The Train to Christmas Town 2019 departs on selected dates between 29th November and 24th December, with ticket prices starting from £18 for children and £23 for adults.
