Where to see steam locomotive 70000 Britannia in its new look for the first time

Steam locomotive 70000 Britannia will be back out on the mainline this weekend, however, it will look slightly different to normal.

70000 has been in the workshop recently undergoing cosmetic surgery to come out in a new look, it is now numbered 70014, named Iron Duke.

This weekend, she is hauling her first tour in this guise, hauling The Golden Arrow from London to Canterbury.

Departing London Victoria at 10:47, the locomotive will pass through Denmark Hill (10:58), Bellingham (11:16), Bromley South (11:22), Swanley (11:30), Charing (12:50), Wye (13:06) and Canterbury West at 13:17.

The return journey will depart Canterbury West at 16:26 and will pass through Minster (16:50), Dover Priory (17:21), Ashford International (18:08), Paddock Wood (18:33), Bromley South (19:26) and London Victoria at 20:09.

  • i understand that britannia will be pulling a train through south wales to Carmarthen this wednesday 29th July 2020, can you confirm if it will pass through Neath Station at 11.46 please?
