The main components for the tender (tank, frame and wheels) should all arrive at Darlington by Early 2020, ready for further work.

Over the next year, all of the heavy motion parts should be forged and machined, with the two centre coupling rods recently forged.

The boiler is under construction at the DB Meiningen Works in Germany, with the expected delivery date of Summer 2021.

Roughly half of the £3.3 million has been raised through 930 supported signed up to the ‘P2 for the price of a pint of beer per week’ scheme. This support has led the Trust to their very successful position today, with the engine almost 45% complete.

The current timescale for 2007 to be in service is within the next three years. To help the Trust meet this target or to find out more information, please visit the P2 Steam Locomotive Trust’s website here.
