The has announced that locomotive 5239 Goliath has officially returned to steam following overhaul.

That means that exactly two years after arriving at Cranmore, the GWR tank is now complete following its full overhaul.

The trial was very successful and there were no problems from the few miles that the locomotive did around the shed.

There are of course plenty of little jobs required to finish the job off!

With the help of our carriage shed painters, the final top coat of green has been applied. Richard has been putting his signwriting skills to use having finished the bufferbeam numbers. He will be painting the GREAT WESTERN along the tanks next.
