As you may have noticed from our announcements, this week saw an upgrade to the systems which run the website.

As we have continued to grow in 2019 to be one of the biggest railway websites in the UK, the old systems were struggling to cope and it was time to upgrade, we have had almost 5.5 million page views so far this year!

The benefits are already apparent with faster page loading times, and we now have a platform that allows us to look forward to creating new features for 2020.

But it looks the same?

Yes, that's right, we haven't yet changed the design of the site, a new look will appear in the future to help organise things better, and introduce some great new functionality.

The first of these new features launched today is a ‘Save Post' option on LocoStop. Its a little like Facebook, but just for trains, so you won't find a feed full of cat videos, how to cook recipes and massive sponsored posts! Just like Facebook, you can post pictures and video clips, so why not share your RAILway ADVENTures with everyone today!

The new ‘Save Post' option allows you to save any post on the activity feed for later so you can easily find it when you need it. It is even better than the Facebook option as the button is right there next to every post. You can easily switch between your saved posts and the main feed at the top of the activity stream. If you haven't visited our LocoStop community pages, then take a look now.

What would you like?

We also want your ideas for what you would like to see in 2020, what should we add to the RailAdvent website? What would you change? Should we have a mobile app?

Please have a think and let us have your feedback in the comments below, email us enquiries@railadvent.co.uk, or leave a post on Locostop.
