will be celebrating Dogtober when 10 Pets as Therapy dogs will be given a free ride from Preston to .

The ride on one of Northern's brand new trains will be followed by a walk on the beach.

Pets As Therapy is a national charity founded in 1983 by Lesley Scott-Ordish. It enhances health and wellbeing in the community through the visits of trusted volunteers with their behaviourally assessed animals. PAT provides a visiting service in hospitals, hospices, nursing and care homes, special needs schools and a variety of other venues all across the UK.

Lots of beaches across the north of England relax rules about access for dogs, and this is a great opportunity to leave the car behind and enjoy the coast. Northern are inviting other dog owners to get on the train.

Northern will be offering a limited number of portraits in a dog-friendly photo booth along with a number of doggy bags of goodies.
