Class 26 locomotive to visit Somerset and Dorset Railway in 2020

The Somerset & Dorset Railway at has announced that a Class 26 locomotive will be visiting them in 2020.

The railway has arranged for Class 26 No. D5343 to visit for 2 months.

D5343 will be visiting the Somerset & Dorset Railway thanks to Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway.

The locomotive will be arriving at Midsomer Norton in March 2020 for the railway's diesel gala which will be taking place over the weekend of the 7th and 8th March.

This will be the first occasion that a class 26 has ever run on the Somerset and Dorset railway.

The railway is planning a number of events with the locomotive including driver experience and other special events.
