The North Yorkshire Moors Railway has announced that filming for season three of ‘The Yorkshire Steam Railway: All Aboard' has begun.
On the last series of the programme, each episode was watched by over 1.05 million people.
The second series of the documentary, produced by Darlow Smithson Productions Ltd (DSP), part of Endemol Shine UK, had a market share of 5.6%.
The final episode had peak viewers, with an average audience of 1.13 million.
Season two had viewers hooked from the first minute, it featured staff addressing issues of running trains during a heatwave and the return of locomotive 5428 Eric Treacy.
There is currently no dates for when series three will be on TV.
What did the officials say?
Chris Price, General Manager at NYMR, said:
“We are delighted with the viewing figures from season two and the great feedback we've received from our passengers this year. We hope that season three will be just as loved as the rest of the series, and we look forward to the public seeing it in 2020”.

Sept 1st, Duke of Sutherland left St Davids with R/H steamchest cock blowing quite badly (one). Sept 15th that seemed to be sorted but the L/H side was blowing,central to L/H side actually!..Im a southern ex fireman but had to transfer to Bristol, took many a locomotive from Barrow rd through the severn tunnel to severn tunnel jct,and the scrap yards.1964,5,6 7.six at a time behind an old 8 wheel austerity at night, the sound deep in that tunnel,was something else!
