GWR Castle steam locomotive is coming to York this Saturday

Steam locomotive 7029 Clun Castle will be back in steam on the mainline on Saturday 7th September 2019.

The GWR Castle locomotive is hauling an excursion from Dorridge to York.

The railtour departs Dorridge at 07:45 behind the locomotive.

The railtour will then pass through Solihull (07:55), Tyseley (08:06), Water Orton (08:52), Coleshill Parkway (08:55), Tamworth (09:25), Burton-on-Trent (09:45), Castle Donington (10:24), Ilkeston (10:45), Chesterfield (11:14), Swinton (11:47), Pontefract Baghill (12:07), Church Fenton (13:11) and York at 13:26

The return trip will see 7029 Clun Castle depart York at 18:05 and will pass through Doncaster (18:42), Chesterfield (20:12), Alfreton (20:37), Ilkeston (20:53), Castle Donington (21:23), Burton-on-Trent (21:43), Tamworth (21:58), Coleshill Parkway (22:29), Tyseley (22:56), Solihull (23:06), and Dorridge at 23:19
