Duchess steam locomotive will be in Chester this Saturday

Steam locomotive No.6233 Duchess of Sutherland will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in Norwich and Chester on Saturday 7th September 2019.

The Duchess locomotive is on a special rail tour from Norwich to Chester.

The steam locomotive will depart Norwich at approximately 06:55 am.

The railtour will then leave Norwich, and will pass through Wymondham (07:15), Attleborough (07:29), Thetford (07:50), Brandon (08:03), March (09:11), Peterborough (09:34), Oakham (10:11), Melton Mowbray (10:41), Leicester (11:16), Nuneaton (11:48), Stafford (12:58), Crewe (13:31) and Chester at 14:31.

The return trip will depart Chester at 17:09 and will pass through Crewe (17:36), Stafford (18:09), Atherstone (18:46), Leicester (19:38), Melton Mowbray (19:59), Oakham (20:39) and Peterborough Eastfield Junction, at 21:08, where the Duchess is taken off the train and is replaced by diesel locomotives.

The diesel locomotive will arrive at Peterborough at 21:42, and will then pass through March (22:09), Brandon (22:53), Thetford (23:06), Attleborough (23:26), Wymondham (23:38) and Norwich at 23:54.
