Class 43 locomotive to attend Locomotion gala

Locomotion has announced that a HST power car will be attending the Shildon gala.

Power car no. 43002 Sir Kenneth Grange will be the surprise guest at the Shildon Gala event this weekend.

Also known as the Intercity 125, the HST is still the fastest diesel locomotive in the world, and still holds the world diesel speed record of 148 mph.

The Shildon gala takes place from the 21st to the 22nd September 2019, with opening times between 10 am and 5 pm.

Free parking is available At Shildon is FREE to enter. Perfect for all the family.

If you don't know, 43002 Sir Kenneth Grange is awaiting its new life at the National Railway Museum in York, after being withdrawn from passenger use with Great Western Railway.
