Black 5 steam locomotive heading for Carmarthen this Saturday

45231 The Sherwood Forester is on the mainline this Saturday, as it heads to Carmarthen.

The Black 5 will be hauling a section of a Pathfinder Tours tour from Shrewsbury.

Departing Birmingham New Street at 05:33, the tour will begin diesel hauled and will pass through Sandwell & Dudley (05:43), Wolverhampton (05:55), Cosford (06:28), Telford Central (06:35), and Shrewsbury at 06:56.

Here, 45231 is added to train. It will depart Shrewsbury at 07:24 and will pass through Craven Arms (07:58), Knighton (08:27), Llandrindod (09:25), Llanwrtyd (10:03), Llandovery (10:27), Llandeilo (11:11), Pantyffynnon (11:35), Pontarddulais (11:48), Llanelli (12:00), Ferryside (12:170, and Carmarthen at 12:32.

The return journey will depart Carmarthen at 15:30 and will then pass through Pembrey & Burry Port (15:56), Pantyffynnon (16:19), Ammanford (16:21), Llandybie (16:31), Ffairfach (16:45), Llandeilo (16:52), Llangadog (17:18), Llanwrda (17:27), Llandovery (17:40), Llanwrtyd (18:16), Llandrindod (19:05), Dolau (19:48), Llangynllo (20:01), Knighton (20:15), Bucknell (20:26), Craven Arms (20:46), and Shrewsbury at 21:15.

Here, 45231 is swapped for diesels. The train will depart Shrewsbury at 21:53 and will pass through Wellington (21:53), Telford Central (22:28), Wolverhampton (23:02), Sandwell & Dudley (23:24) and Birmingham New Street at 23:34.
