Steam locomotive heading for Stratford-upon-Avon this Wednesday

70000 Britannia will be on the mainline this Wednesday as it heads to Stratford-upon-Avon.

The tour departs Shrewsbury behind a diesel locomotive at 07:40, the train will then pass through Gobowen (08:03), Chirk (08:11), Ruabon (08:20), Wrexham General (08:30), Chester (08:56) and Crewe at 09:28.

Here, 70000 Britannia is added to the train, departing Crewe at 10:05, the train will pass through Madeley (10:15), Stafford (10:35), Walsall (11:14), Tyseley (12:13), Henley-in-Arden (12:35) and Stratford-upon-Avon (12:50).

The return trip will depart at 16:15 and will pass through Wood End (16:37), Tyseley (17:06), Walsall (18:35), Stafford (19:16) and Crewe at 19:48.

Here, 70000 Britannia is taken off the train, and is replaced by the diesel again. Departing Crewe at 20:28, the train will pass through Wrenbury (20:38), Shrewsbury (21:03), Gobowen (21:34), Chirk (21:41), Ruabon (21:49), Wrexham General (21:58), and Chester at 22:18.
